Had as infant, lost cousin

In 1993 I became, along with my cousin, ill with Meningococcal Meningitis. I was only 18 months old, while my cousin was 3years old. I am now 18 and can say I lived through the disease mark free. As for my cousin, she died in less than 24 hours after showing first signs of the disease. My mom dropped me off at my grandma’s, and I was just fine. My mom got a call not 2 hours later, that said I was not conscious and had a purple rash. I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and it was treated early enough that I do not have one sign to show I had the disease. My cousin came to visit me the night I was taken to the hospital, and she died the very next day before she was able to be treated. It took her life that fast, and I was the lucky one.
