I am doing a health history on a child who had menginitis at the age of 1 month. I have read where this may cause learning disabilities. Can you give me some examples?

Among those who survive meningococcal disease, approximately 20 percent suffer long-term consequences, such as brain damage, kidney disease, hearing loss or limb amputations. As the Mom of a survivor, I am very aware of these consequences, but am not qualified to offer more than this general information, which has been provided by the CDC.
