Moms on Meningitis (M.O.M.s) Online Resource Panel

Hi, I contacted fungal meningitis about 20 years ago and I wish to know how would one feel in later years as at the age now 48 years where there is a great change in me in terms of physical well being. Thanks

Ginny Marso responds:

First, let me indicate that I can certainly empathize with your worries over the aftermath of your experience with meningitis twenty years ago. The National Meningitis Association was founded by parents whose children had either died or had suffered severe complications from meningococcal disease, a form of bacterial meningitis. However, meningitis is actually an umbrella term for any infection or inflammation of the meninges (lining) of the brain or spine and your disease process, caused by a fungal infection, is not within the scope of our knowledge base. Furthermore, we are all just volunteers and are not qualified medically to respond to your question. I would therefore recommend that you speak to a qualified health care professional about your questions. We certainly hope that you will be able to allay your concerns by doing so.
