Representative Robert Andrews (NJ) introduces HR803, the Meningococcal Vaccination Act of 2005 requiring college student vaccination or waiver - February 2005.
By September 2005, 34 states had enacted meningitis vaccination or education laws or policies. Starting with Maryland's ground breaking "vaccination or waiver" law in the spring of 2000, many states not only require meningitis education but also signed responses from students or their guardians indicating whether the students have been immunized or not.
